Clarification on GO connectivity with Home and compatible Pokemon

In this article, the author claims that “Before you can transfer a critter from Pokémon GO, you’ll need to have either caught it or registered it in your Pokémon Home pokédex.”

However, it seems this article missed something. On Pokémon’s official page on GO connectivity with Home, there is text that reads “In order to bring certain Pokémon that were caught in Pokémon GO and then transferred to Pokémon HOME into a Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game, the Pokémon must either be registered in the Pokédex of that game or have been obtained at least once in that game.”

So it sounds like you will be able to transfer Pokemon from GO to Home even if they are not registered in your Home pokédex, correct? You just can’t use them in Sword/Shield unless you have them registered in your in-game Sword/Shield pokédex (which I do think is completely fair). It seems that this is the truth, and I really hope it is because I’m banking on 300+ new entries to Home via Pokemon Go in order to get closer to completing my Home Pokédex.

Do you think this is what the case will be? Do you feel it’s a fair system? Discuss!
