I figured I’d share some perspective as to why Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME integration is taking longer than we all wish for, Understandably you might be frustrated with your storage right now but I do believe there is a good reason as to why we don’t have it yet.
To put it bluntly: COVID-19 has 100% delayed a lot of things that were most likely on the roadmap and I think because of this Niantic and the Pokémon Company have had to make a couple of choices that would be most beneficial to the majority.
Here’s a list of new things that got added before Pokémon HOME that probably wouldn’t happened if it weren’t for the COVID-19 situation:
– Remote Raids (New Feature)
– Complete Overhaul of how Pokémon GO Fest was going to GO (Had to go Virtually)
– Remote Raid friend Invites (Add-on to New Feature)
– Team GO Rocket Balloons (New Feature)
– All the Quality of Life changes that Niantic has implemented since COVID-19
I think it’s fair to say that one of Pokémon GO to HOME integration was planned but obviously the 5 things above are more important so everyone’s able to play the game and “celebrate” the game.
It’s quite amazing what Niantic has done over the last couple of months and to be honest, I don’t think it’s fair that Niantic is getting so much hate over this while clearly most people now work from home so obviously that’s going to delay everything massively.
Make of it what you will, I personally have LESS storage space but those cool things above and have HOME come out later and struggle a bit with storage for a while.
